Free or cheap music mixing software that will allow me to export to mp3 format?

I am an aspiring musician looking to get some tracks in circulation. I want some mixing software that is either cheap or free, easy to use and most importantly will allow me to create mp3 files. My expeirience with audacity has been that they do not let you create mp3 files or export them in any way without buying something. perhaps i am mistaken or they have changed it, but perhaps theres some thing better or someone could explain to me how to do it on audacity. thanks much.

Free music mixing/DJ software?? (BEST ANSWER, PEOPLE!!)?

Does anyone know of any good (and FREE!) music mixing software?? I need to make a mix cd for dance, ad i must combine and edit certain songs. Any suggestions/past experiences??

Fl studio is a complicated DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and I personally like this one.
If your looking for a less complicated kind of software,
I recommend Virtual DJ; its free but its only a demo.

Music mixing software?

im a guitarist in a band and i want to start mixing music together to make songs. Not only rock/metal but rap too ;D is there any free GOOD programs out there for this? If you cant think of any, some suggestions about cheap software would be appreciated
Personal Computer user

Cakewalk Sonar is an extremely good, professional-level program for mixing.

Cubase is Cakewalk’s main competitor. It’s good, but I like Cakewalk more.

FL Studio is probably not as good for mixing, but it’s outstanding for creating rap backtracks.

Audacity is inferior to all three of them, but it’s free, open-source software that you can just download.

i need a free music mixing software no demos and has to be free?

Does anyone know of a good free music mixing software?

Hmmm. I’m not sure. depends on exactly what you want to do. WavePad has a free version, but that is more audio editing. MixPad is for combining tracks like music and voice together which is probably what you are talking about. It has a free 14-day trial, and is reasonably priced after that. Might be worth trying if you don’t find anything else. Here are some links for you.

Music Mixing Software/Hardware?

I know this has probably been addressed numerous times, but-

I (well, actually my buddy) was wondering what I (he) would need to begin fooling around with "mixing" my (his) own music. I (he) would like to be able to do audio-overlays with custom beats (even mixing mainstream music)

Since money really isn’t the issue, any advice on what hardware and software would be necessary would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I can’t understand your question.. You just want to remix other people’s music? Or mix songs as in DJ?

For both of those I recommend Ableton Live.. It’s easy to use, DJing with it is fun and easy.. Since you don’t really have to devote alot of focus to beat matching you can really work on the mixing part of the game.. You can drop all kinds of loops and screw with effects.. It’s good stuff..

For making beats and stuff I recommend the same program..

You can use VST effects and stuff too in Ableton Live..

Some people may recommend Reason to you, great program, the audio quality is great and the synthesizers are amazing.. The only downside is there’s no VST support so you can only use Reason’s devices(which are still great).. However, I find this somewhat limiting..

You mentioned "audio-overlays".. I’m assuming you want to record from a mic or something.. Guitars, vocals or whatever..

I use Garageband(comes free with all Macs, it’s simple and immediately at my disposal) and a cheap Presonus interface just to record simple bass lines.. I usually convert the tracks into WAV files, loop them and run em through a bunch of effects in Live..

Protools is the industry standard though.. It is what it is, it’s great.. It’s kind of expensive and you’ll have to get an m-box, I believe they’ve just put out a less expensive model for around 300 bucks..
